It's about 7 in the evening and I contemplate my leaving, as everybody's weaving in and out.
But I hear a slight complaining and the people are refraining from explaining to me what it's all about.

It's clear the night will turn to ruin with such an elephant in the room, it can't belong before it starts to get around.
And as eyes begin to roll, the crowd lose all self-control.
It's clear that everybody knows.

We've got a turd in the punchbowl.

The atmosphere's no longer and the smell is getting stronger, we're left awkward with our drinks no longer cold.
And in the wake of this dilemma it seems it's time now more than ever that the punchbowl issue ought to be resolved.

Now the crowd is getting restless, the punch has lost all of it's freshness, it won't be long before the fruit cubes start to mould.
But no one dares to be so bold as to step out on their own.
It's clear the culprit must be told.

We've got a turd in the punchbowl.

It's now verging on 10:30 and with our smell receptors hurting, eviction is now well and truly sold.
It's agreed that this must end and it's time that the condemned was to leave and go recede back up his hole.

And in discussion of said turd, my name, I overheard, and the sweat above my brow went quickly cold.
Shouldn't need to have been told it is I who fits the mould.
Like a dagger to my soul,
